New Comic and Trade Prices

We've had a string of good news to share with you since Christmas but it is with a heavy heart we pass on some unfortunate news.

If you've been paying attention to currency exchange rates recently or you may have read headlines telling you that the Australian Dollar has hit a five year low against the US Dollar. In fact, since July last year it has dropped almost 15 cents. We've been doing our best to hold off to see if there would be any improvement but all indications are that it doesn't seem likely at this stage. Therefore, as a business who receives 95% of our product through a US supplier, we're going to have to raise prices across stock.

We're in this for you, our customers, you're the ones who make this whole thing worth it, so we'd like to be as open and honest regarding decisions like this rather than just springing them on you at the register next time you visit the store. We also agree that it isn't the best timing given we've just announced our move to new premises but we'd like to assure you that these two things are not related, the move has been in the works for a while now and a big part of it is to compensate for the growth you've helped us achieve through word of mouth. Please know that this wasn't an easy decision to make and it's one we've been struggling with for a couple of months now.

The new pricing will come into effect for comics and trades from the shipment expected on the 21st of January onwards. Comics and trades that are currently aside in people's orders will be marked at the older prices. To help avoid confusion it would be greatly appreciated if anyone with outstanding orders can try to pick their orders up at their earliest convenience.

We are totally understanding that this is a luxury industry and that people need to work their comic spending into a budget. If you need any help reassessing your current Standing Order by making a few cuts here and there, please let us know and we'll help any way we can.
