THE ADVENTURES OF TIN TIN GIVEAWAY!

Tintin and his friends discover directions to a sunken ship commanded by Captain Haddock’s ancestor and go off on a treasure hunt. Starring Jamie Bell (Billy Elliot) as Tintin, the intrepid young reporter whose relentless pursuit of a good story thrusts him into a world of high adventure, and Daniel Craig (Quantum of Solace) as the nefarious Red Rackham. The Adventures of Tintin is directed by Steven Spielberg and produced by Peter Jackson.

It seems we have waited forever for the release of this film but come December 26th, The ADVENTURES OF TIN TIN will finally grace our cinema screens.

With secret, signature, celebrity cameos, “The Muppets” hits the big screen January 12, 2012.

ALL STAR LEGENDS Presents INVINCIBLE VOLUME 1

With the start of December looming and Christmas just around the corner, it seemed like the right time to announce our next ALL STAR LEGEND - Invincible Volume 1: Family Matters from Robert Kirkman and Corey Walker.
 
With the recent release of the Invincible Compendium and this week seeing the arrival of The Complete Invincible Library Volume 3, we thought there couldn't be a better way to celebrate than to offer up a first taste of this epic Image title.

Most would of heard of Kirkman's other book, The Walking Dead by now but may have missed his take on costumed heroes. One of the many strengths of the series is how brilliantly it creates a vast universe of heroes and villians that other companies struggle to fit in their entire lines. Couple that a good dose of teen angst surmounted with the awkwardness of newly acquired powers makes for an exciting first outing.

Walker's artwork compliments the story nicely, with a bright, colourful and dynamic approach that strongly finds a balance between the down to Earth nature of street level heroes and awe associated with super powered icons.

Same simple idea as last month, the ALL STAR LEGEND will be available for 30 days (or until stock sells out) at the discounted price. As this will be a limited stock promotion there is strictly "no holds" on the legend,  first in, best read! No further discount applies to the book as it's a pretty good chance it will already be cheaper than the US cover price! The discount also only applies to the volume listed, not the entire series of trades.

WAR HORSE PREVIEW SCREENING PASS GIVEAWAY

DreamWorks Pictures’ “War Horse,” director Steven Spielberg’s epic adventure, is a tale of loyalty, hope and tenacity set against a sweeping canvas of rural England and Europe during the First World War. “War Horse” begins with the remarkable friendship between a horse named Joey and a young man called Albert, who tames and trains him. When they are forcefully parted, the film follows the extraordinary journey of the horse as he moves through the war, changing and inspiring the lives of all those he meets—British cavalry, German soldiers, and a French farmer and his granddaughter—before the story reaches its emotional climax in the heart of No Man’s Land.

The First World War is experienced through the journey of this horse—an odyssey of joy and sorrow, passionate friendship and high adventure. “War Horse” is one of the great stories of friendship and war— a successful book, it was turned into a hugely successful international theatrical hit that is currently on Broadway. It now comes to screen in an epic adaptation by one of the great directors in film history.

Now imagine a John Williams score over the top of this...and then let the tears flow. Don't try to fight it...there's no stopping them. 

So with many thanks to the lovely folks from DreamWorks, we have 10 double passes to the preview screening of War Horse at Hoyts Melbourne Central on Monday the 12th of December at 6:30pm.

All you need to do to go into the draw to win is tell us which animal from the movies would you want to go to war with and why?

All entries will go into the ASC Barrel and will be drawn at random on Friday the 2nd of December at 7pm.
All tickets will be available to pick up from the store from Saturday the 3rd.
As these tickets are for a preview screening, please only enter if you can definitely make the session.

Seems DC has been too good about getting their books out on time, so good that they didn't account for months with a 5th week. But hey, you know what is out this week? Previews.
