It's been a year since the events of the last unnatural uprising of the back issue brood we had growing within the store's walls. Sadly as hard as you tried to help us fight back this behemoth, the back issue hordes are back and in stronger numbers than ever! So it is you, dear friends we once again invite to join with us in the culling of this monsterous titan with some fiendishly rightous prices.

From opening on Saturday November 1st, all back issues (excluding cabinet comics) will be $2.50 or if you do your best to help us fight back this endless horde by picking up 10 or more issues, they will be ONLY $2 each. 

Coupled with this is the return of the ALL STAR MYSTERY PACKS! A massive hit the last time we did it, the mystery packs return to help bolster your spirits with over $100 worth of value for as little as $20! That's as cheap as $1 a comic!!! These packs are limited to two per customer while stocks last, so best to get in early!

New Comics For Wednesday 29th of October

Well Halloween is on it's way and this week we planning something special for you on Saturday with the return of the MONSTER BACK ISSUE SALE! Plenty for fun planned for that so keep your eyes peeled on the event and store page. Beyond that we've got the next LIVE Radioactive Lounge recording on Friday night that will be celebrating all things Monsters in comics as part of their Halloween Special! Now onto another week of great books! Let's see what we have for you.

Deathlok showing up in  TV's Agents of SHIELD has garnered interest and now we have a new super cyborg sleeper agent getting his hands dirty in this new series, DEATHLOK #1. The final issue of Azzerallo's family feuding gods saga hits with WONDER WOMAN #35. Everyone's favourite lovable mystic bearded monk get his own series in the new RASPUTIN #1. The only thing cooler than a Pug dog is one you couldride into battle in MIKE NORTONS BATTLEPUG HC VOL 03 SIT STAY DIE. Having just met writer Kyle Higgins the other week at Armageddon, his creator owned series about a unionised superhero team acting as public servants gets it's first collection with COWL TP VOL 01 PRINCIPLES OF POWER. Jason Aaron's recent Marvel event reveals more than we needed to know about Nick Fury in the ORIGINAL SIN HC. If the Uber edition was too much for you to take the first STRAY BULLETS TP VOL 01 INNOCENCE OF NIHILISM is now available in a much more manageable dose of infinite sadness. Still sad we haven't seen a sequel to that awesome Dredd film, DREDD UPRISE #1 should cure that for you. Go time for Hedgehog fans with the release of SONIC BOOM #1. Some titles really have it all, like GIANT SIZED KUNG FU BIBLE STORIES GN from Erik Larsen.

ALL STAR LEGENDS Presents:SCALPED VOL 1

Just two weeks ago we had quite a special week of comics. In one shipment we had the release of Men Of Wrath #1, the new Thor #1 and the trade collection of Image's Southern Bastards. Why so special you ask? Three very different books, all written by the one guy, Jason Aaron. Flipping back and forth between epic cape titles to his hard edge creator owned titles has been a talent of Aaron's for the last few years and we thought it was high time to celebrate where it started (at least for us), with Vertigo's Scalped Volume 1.

Dash Bad Horse is the on the brink, car crash waiting to happen centre piece of this engrossing crime drama set to the backdrop of a Native American Reservation. Rolling back into his home town after a fifteen year absence, Dash learns quickly that not much has changed and if it has it's definitely for the worst. Quickly bringing his re-appearance to the notice of the Reservations Tribal Leader and local crime lord, Lincoln Red Crow, Dash finds himself in the position of deputy on a corrupt Tribal police force, at odds with his estranged Rez activist Mother and catching the attention of his troubled childhood love. Dealing with all this would be more than enough to push a runaway freight train like Dash over the edge but the mystery behind his return home is the thing that might get him killed at a moments notice.

Considering just how well this crime drama is executed in it's scope, characters and setting, it's somewhat hard to believe this was one of writer, Jason Aaron first outings with an ongoing series.The character's bad choices and hard luck lives at times make it near impossible to turn the page with the sheer weight behind each panel. It seems most the main cast are doing their best to make good on the more than ordinary lives that have befallen them but we fast learn that there are no easy outs from life on the Rez. This is one of the many strengths to Aaron's talents on the series. The honesty in which he depicts the hardships faced by modern Native American people is brutal, telling and is as important to the story as any of the main characters.

R.M Guera's art is dark and harsh and perfectly suited to this series. Whether it's a smoke filled back water bar, the sun blazed dirt roads of local residents or the cloud covered night sky out in the open fields of a secret midnight meeting, Guera's art has the grit to have you tasting the dusk and feeling the sweat of every setting.

Not a tale for the weak hearted. This series manages to keep the characters right on the edge of the tipping point page after page and as the reader you'll be right there beside them the whole way. Just remember it's ok to exhale after each page. ;)

Yet another outstanding break out title from the House of Ideas that everyone should take the time to check out with MS MARVEL TP VOL 01 NO NORMAL. Love philosophy but feel it makes a little spicing up? ACTION PHILOSOPHERS HC has got you covered. Fan fave TV series gets the comic book treatment in SLEEPY HOLLOW #1 from BOOM. Dark Horse are making it easy for you to finally check out Stan Sakai's classic anthropomorphic feudal Japan epic with the new USAGI YOJIMBO SAGA TP VOL 01. Oh and a new All Star Legend pick if everything goes to plan!

All entries will go into the All Star Barrel and the winner will be drawn at random.
Entries close 6pm Tuesday the 7th of October and winner will be announced Wednesday the 8th.

Prize will only be available to pick up from the store and winner must produce photo ID upon pick up. The prizes MUST be picked up no later than a week after the draw. Any remaining prize after this date will be given away at our discretion to make sure it doesn't go to waste.
